What this policy covers
This policy explains how quickdinner.org collects, uses, shares, retains, and protects information when you use the website or app, including account, recipe, social, AI, shopping-list, sharing, moderation, and support features.
Information we collect
Account and profile information. This may include your email address, name, username, avatar, profile biography, authentication identifiers, and account settings.
Content and activity. This may include recipe requests, generated or submitted recipes, uploaded images, comments, ratings, likes, favorites, follows, shopping lists, shared-list settings, recipe-view records used to prevent duplicate view counts, blocks, reports, and other actions you take in the service.
Support and legal requests. If you contact us, we collect the information you provide, such as your name, email address, subject, message, and related correspondence.
Technical and analytics information. Infrastructure providers may process limited device, network, log, diagnostic, and security information needed to deliver, authenticate, protect, and troubleshoot the service. QuickDinner also uses Google Analytics and first-party site activity records to understand visits, page usage, recipe viewing, and current site activity. Signed-out requests may include random app-specific or visitor identifiers used for session, analytics, and duplicate-count prevention.
How we collect information
We collect information directly from you when you create an account, edit a profile, create or publish content, use social or shopping-list features, upload media, submit reports, or contact support. We also retain limited feature interactions when needed to make the app work, such as favorites, ratings, follows, and de-duplicated recipe view counts. Technical information needed to operate, authenticate, secure, and troubleshoot the service may be processed automatically by our infrastructure providers.
How we use information
We use information to provide and personalize account features, generate and display recipes, maintain shopping lists and shared links, operate ratings/comments/follows, process AI requests, prevent abuse and fraud, moderate user-generated content, troubleshoot and secure the service, respond to support or legal requests, and improve quickdinner.org.
AI features
When you deliberately start an AI feature such as recipe generation, image generation, categorization, or automated safety review, the text, recipe context, preferences, and other information needed to provide that requested feature may be sent to AI services made available through our technology providers. QuickDinner does not show a separate AI-processing permission popup before each generation.
Do not include sensitive personal information in recipe prompts or other AI requests unless it is necessary for the feature you are asking QuickDinner to provide.
Public and shared content
Recipes, ratings, comments, profile information, and other content you choose to publish may be visible to other users and search engines. Shopping lists shared by link may be viewable by anyone who has the link. Do not publish or share information you want to keep private.
Service providers and sharing
We use technology providers to operate quickdinner.org, including Base44 for app infrastructure and account/data services and AI, image, hosting, security, and related providers used by the service. QuickDinner also uses Google Analytics for site usage measurement. AI services are called when you deliberately use features that require AI processing.
We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users or the service, investigate abuse or security incidents, or enforce our terms. We do not treat information you intentionally publish as private.
Browser storage and similar technologies
quickdinner.org uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, preserve temporary recipe or shopping-list state, support security and session functionality, maintain a first-party visitor identifier for site statistics, and support Google Analytics measurement. Google advertising personalization signals are disabled in QuickDinner's Google Analytics configuration.
Data retention and deletion
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain security and moderation records, respond to requests, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and enforce agreements. Retention periods can vary by data type and purpose.
If you delete your account from your Profile menu, quickdinner.org deletes the account and associated app records that are tied to that account, including published recipes and social content handled by the account-deletion flow, except information we are legally required or reasonably permitted to retain for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or similar obligations. De-identified or aggregated information that no longer identifies you may be retained.
Your privacy choices
You can edit profile information and control what you publish. You can remove saved content, comments, recipes, follows, favorites, and shopping-list items through the available app controls where those controls are provided.
You can initiate complete account deletion inside the app from your Profile menu using Delete Account. You may also contact us to ask about access, correction, deletion, consent, or other privacy rights that may apply in your location.
For privacy requests, use the Contact page. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request involving account data.
AI features and analytics
When you deliberately start an AI feature such as recipe or image generation, QuickDinner sends the text, recipe context, and preferences needed to provide that feature to its technology providers. There is no separate AI-processing popup before generation.
QuickDinner also uses Google Analytics and first-party site activity records to understand visits, page usage, and live site activity. Advertising personalization signals are disabled in the Google Analytics configuration.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information. No online service or storage system can guarantee absolute security, so you should also protect your login credentials and avoid posting sensitive information publicly.
Children
quickdinner.org is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children where parental consent would be required by applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information in a way that requires removal, contact us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service, providers, or legal requirements change. The current version and its update date will be posted on this page.
