Ingredients
- 0.5 lb ground beef
- 1 cup broccoli
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 20 dumpling wrappers
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp neutral cooking oil
- 0.5 cup water
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
Cooking instructions
- Finely chop the broccoli and grate the ginger. In a bowl, combine the ground beef, broccoli, ginger, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, and 1 teaspoon sesame oil until evenly mixed. (about 5 min)
- Place one wrapper on a work surface. Add about 1 tablespoon filling to the center, moisten the edge with water, fold the wrapper over, and press firmly to seal. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling. (about 12 min)
- Heat the neutral oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Arrange the dumplings flat-side down and cook until the bottoms are golden brown, about 2 to 3 minutes. (about 3 min) — Medium-high heat
- Add 1/2 cup water, immediately cover the skillet, and steam until the wrappers are tender and the beef reaches 160°F, about 7 to 9 minutes. Uncover and cook 1 minute to evaporate excess water. (about 10 min) — Medium heat
- Stir together 2 tablespoons soy sauce and 1 teaspoon sesame oil. Serve the hot dumplings with the dipping sauce. (about 2 min)
