Ingredients
- 3 ounces fresh ginger
- 2 ounces fresh turmeric
- 1 large lemon
- 1 large orange
- 0.5 cup water
- 0.125 teaspoon black pepper
Cooking instructions
- Scrub the ginger and turmeric well. Peel the lemon and orange, removing as much white pith and seeds as possible. Cut all the produce into chunks small enough for a blender. (about 5 min)
- Add the ginger, turmeric, lemon, orange, water, and black pepper to a blender. Blend on high until very smooth, about 1 to 2 minutes, stopping to scrape down the sides if needed. (about 2 min)
- Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a bowl or large measuring cup, pressing on the solids with a spoon for more liquid. Skip straining if you prefer a pulpy shot. (about 5 min)
- Divide among eight small lidded containers or shot glasses. Cover and refrigerate until cold, at least 30 minutes. Shake or stir before serving. (about 30 min)
