Prep: 15 min · Cook: 15 min · Yield: 4 · Method: Stovetop
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 8-inch flour tortillas
- 4 ounces sharp cheddar cheese
- 0.5 cup dill pickle slices
- 0.5 medium yellow onion
- 0.5 cup burger sauce
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Cooking instructions
- Divide the ground beef into four loose portions. Thinly slice the onion, shred the cheddar, and pat the pickles dry. Season the beef with the salt and pepper. (about 5 min)
- Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Lightly brush one side of each tortilla with oil. Place one tortilla oil-side down in the hot skillet, then scatter one portion of beef evenly over the tortilla. Press firmly with a spatula so the beef forms a thin layer reaching close to the edges. (about 2 min) — Medium-high heat
- Cook until the beef is browned and releases easily from the skillet, about 2 to 3 minutes. Flip so the beef side is down, and cook until the beef reaches 160°F in the center. (about 3 min) — Medium-high heat
- Top half of the beef with one-quarter of the cheddar, onion, and pickles. Fold the tortilla over the filling and press gently. Cook until the tortilla is crisp and the cheese melts, about 1 minute per side. (about 2 min) — Medium heat
- Transfer to a plate and repeat with the remaining tortillas and beef, adding a little more oil to the skillet if needed. Cut into wedges and serve hot with the burger sauce. (about 5 min) — Medium heat
