Ingredients

Cooking instructions

  1. Cut the bacon into 1-inch pieces. Cut the cabbage into quarters, remove the core, and slice it into 1/2-inch ribbons. Dice the onion and mince the garlic. (about 10 min)
  2. Place the bacon in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until browned and crisp, 7 to 9 minutes. Transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate, leaving about 2 tablespoons of drippings in the pan. (about 9 min) — Medium heat
  3. Add the onion to the drippings and cook, stirring often, until softened and lightly browned, 4 to 5 minutes. (about 5 min) — Medium heat
  4. Add the cabbage, salt, and black pepper. Toss to coat, then cook uncovered, stirring every few minutes, until the cabbage is browned in spots and tender but not mushy, 10 to 12 minutes. (about 12 min) — Medium heat
  5. Stir in the garlic and apple cider vinegar and cook for 1 minute, just until fragrant. Return the bacon to the skillet, toss to combine, and serve hot. (about 1 min) — Medium heat
