Prep: 15 min · Cook: 14 min · Yield: 4 · Method: Air Fryer
Ingredients
- 2 large (about 1 1/2 pounds total) chicken breasts, boneless, skinless
- 1 cup finely grated parmesan cheese
- 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Cooking instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for 3 minutes. Place the chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound them to an even 1/2-inch thickness. Cut each breast in half to make four portions. (about 5 min) — 400°F
- In a shallow bowl, stir together the Parmesan, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. In a second shallow bowl, whisk the egg with the olive oil. (about 3 min)
- Dip each chicken piece into the egg mixture, letting the excess drip off, then press it firmly into the Parmesan crumb mixture so both sides are evenly coated. (about 4 min)
- Lightly coat the air-fryer basket with cooking spray or oil. Arrange the chicken in a single layer without overlapping; work in batches if needed. (about 1 min) — 400°F
- Air fry for 7 minutes. Carefully turn the chicken and cook for 5 to 7 minutes more, until the coating is crisp and the thickest part reaches 165°F on an instant-read thermometer. (about 13 min) — 400°F
- Rest the chicken for 3 minutes before serving. (about 3 min)
