- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 0.75 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 0.75 cup all-purpose flour
- 0.5 teaspoon kosher salt
Cooking instructions
- Heat the oven to 350°F. Line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on two sides. (about 5 min) — 350°F
- Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Remove from the heat, whisk in the sugar and cocoa powder, and let cool for 5 minutes. (about 5 min) — Low heat
- Whisk in the eggs one at a time, then whisk in the vanilla until the mixture is smooth and glossy. (about 2 min)
- Add the flour and salt. Fold with a spatula just until no dry streaks remain; do not overmix. (about 2 min)
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan. Bake until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist fudgy crumbs, not wet batter, 23 to 27 minutes. (about 25 min) — 350°F
- Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack, about 1 hour. Lift out using the parchment, cut into 16 squares, and serve. (about 60 min)
