## Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 8 oz elbow macaroni
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 0.5 medium yellow onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 0.5 tsp kosher salt
- 0.25 tsp black pepper

## Cooking instructions
1. Heat a large deep skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it into small crumbles, until no pink remains and it reaches 160°F on an instant-read thermometer, about 6 to 8 minutes. (about 8 min) (Medium-high heat; beef 160°F)
2. Add the onion and garlic to the skillet. Cook, stirring, until the onion softens, about 3 minutes. (about 3 min) (Medium heat)
3. Stir in the macaroni, broth, milk, salt, and pepper. Bring to a gentle simmer, then cook uncovered, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed, about 10 to 12 minutes. (about 12 min) (Gentle simmer)
4. Remove the skillet from the heat. Stir in the cheddar and ketchup until the cheese melts and the sauce is creamy, about 1 minute. (about 1 min) (Off heat)
5. Let the mac rest for 2 minutes before serving. (about 2 min)
